"But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know [them,] because they are spiritually discerned."
You cannot understand the things of God mentally because they are spiritual and spiritual things can only be understood spiritually.
This is why getting spiritual understanding is very important.
You can only understand the voice of God spiritually. The only way to understand the leading of the Spirit of God and the ways of the Spirit generally is by spiritual understanding.
1 Corinthians 2:14
(Amplified)
_But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED AND ESTIMATED AND APPRECIATED._
The things of God spiritually discerned, understood, estimated and appreciated.
We have also seen from the Word of God that speaking in tongues enhances our spiritual understanding.
1 Corinthians 14 : 2
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands [him;] however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries._
Our spiritual understanding and discernment appreciates greatly as we spend quality time speaking and paying in tongues.
Do you desire to understand the voice of God better ? Do you want to understand the things of the Spirit of God and His ways much better than you do now ? Then you should speak in tongues more than ever before.
