"Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me."But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so HE PAID THE FARE, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD."
The safest place on earth is living in the centre of God's will for your life.
Obedience to God guarantees our safety in life. Living in disobedience to God is the most expensive thing and most dangerous thing in this world.
Your protection, provision and promotion are guaranteed by your obedience to divine instructions.
Jonah in disobedience to God paid his fare and went down. When you are in disobedience to God, you will have to pay your fare and sponsor yourself. But in obedience to God we enjoy divine sponsorship.
In addition, "Jonah WENT DOWN..."
Disobedience brings demotion in life. Your promotion is at the other end of your obedience to divine instructions.
Also living in disobedience breeds uncertainty and insecurity. Jonah in disobedience found himself in the belly of the fish.
Disobedience is very costly. You cannot afford it. But it pays to obey God by walking in obedience to every instruction of the LORD.
