"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto YE DO WELL THAT YE TAKE HEED, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:"
Our text for today says
"...ye do well that ye take heed..."
To take heed means to pay attention. Therefore, you do well that you pay attention.
We do well in life by paying attention.
Paying attention to who ?
First by paying attention to the written Word of God.
Secondly by paying attention to the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you.
Thirdly, by paying attention to your recreated human spirit.
God enlightens and guides us through our spirits because the spirit of man is the candle of the LORD.
Proverbs 20:27
_The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly._
Candles give light and light brings direction to us. The light of God, which is divine direction comes to us through our spirits.
Thus paying attention to our recreated human spirits is paying attention to divine direction.
A man who shuts his spirit and never listen to his spirit becomes crippled in life and becomes an easy prey to selfish and designing folks
The person who listens to their heart is the man or woman, boy or girl that climbs to the top in life.
To do well in life learn to listen to your spirit, learn to pay attention to your heart and to follow your heart always.
