"But God, who is rich in mercy, BECAUSE of His great love with which He loved us,"
The mercy of God is an expression of His love for us.
Our text says that God is rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loves us.
God loves us greatly. Because of His great love for us, He is rich in mercy towards us.
Hence, we enjoy the mercy of God because of His great love for us.
We also know from the scriptures that divine direction is an expression of God's mercies towards us.
Exodus 15:13
You in Your mercy have led forth The people whom You have redeemed; You have guided [them] in Your strength To Your holy habitation.
God in His mercy has led forth the people whom He has redeemed. He shows us mercy by leading us.
We should expect direction because God loves us greatly and shows us great mercies.
Also, as we thank God for His love and mercies, we abound in divine guidance.
